The annual Swedish Business Associations Global Development trip went to
Cortina, Italy this year. The delegation solved, as it always does, all the
global problems. The trip was ended with some fantastic and well deserved
skiing in the Italian alps. Once again it is proven that Swedish Business
representative have a great contribution to the solution of the world problems.

Statement of Swedish Foreign Policy
2010, Each February, the Minister for Foreign Affairs presents the
Government's Statement of Foreign Policy in the Riksdag. This statement is
commonly known as the Foreign Policy Statement. The presentation is followed by
a debate in the Riksdag. The Foreign Policy Statement outlines the direction of
the Government's foreign policy in the coming year.
This year's Foreign Policy Statement is the first under the Treaty of
Lisbon, a Treaty that means a crucial step in strengthening the European Union
as a global actor. Europe has thereby gained new opportunities to shape
international developments on the basis of European interests and values.
Sweden's foreign policy is more integrated into the EU Common Foreign and
Security Policy than ever. This gives Sweden a new responsibility and new
opportunities to work actively for freedom, peace and reconciliation around the
world, and it is the Government's main foreign policy priority to do so.
Nothing is mentioned about Indonesia, nor ASEAN. But a sentence about the
rising power of Asia:
"The world of tomorrow will be shaped to a great extent by Asia’s
emerging strength. The economic crisis has caused not only economic power but
also political influence to further shift towards Asia."Regarding Asia,

Minister of Information and Communication Visits Sweden, On Thursday 11
February 2010, Indonesian Minister of Information and Telecommunication HE Mr.
Tifatul Sembiring and his delegation visited Sweden at the invitation of
Swedish Minister for Communications, HE Mrs. Ĺsa Torstensson. Ambassador of
Sweden to Indonesia, Mrs. Ewa Polano, mentioned that the invitation was
extended during a bilateral talk following the Indonesia-Sweden Telecom and IT
Seminar on 15 December last year in Jakarta, where Minister Tifatul Sembiring
was the keynote speaker.
"Indonesia and Sweden have developed a close relation over the past
years – a relation that has been characterized by rewarding knowledge sharing
as well as close business ties. It is very inspiring to see the great potential
in continued dynamic and fruitful cooperation between our two countries. The
visit of His Excellency Minister Sembiring is another important step forward in
our relation with this very important country in Asia,” continues Ambassador
Polano. On Friday 12 February, Minister
Tifatul Sembiring delivered a keynote speech at the “Indonesia – new market,
new possibilities!” seminar organized by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
More than 50 Swedish companies were registered to attend the event, which aims
to give the participants the opportunity to meet with key people in dealing
with Indonesia as well as to learn more about the business possibilities and
how to seize them. Minister Tifatul Sembiring also visited Kista Science City,
Northern Europe’s – and one of the world’s – leading business districts for
Information and Communication Technology, where more than 500 businesses and
20,000 employees gather, from start-up to multi-national ICT companies. The
Minister’s delegation includes the Chairman of Commission 1 of DPR, Mr. Kemal
Azis Stamboel, who also met the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, Mr. Per
Westerberg. Mr. Stamboel together with another Parliamentarian, Mr. Irwan
Prayitno also from Commission 1, met with the Chairman of the Parliament
Committee on Foreign Relations, Mr. Göran Lennmarker.
Visit by a delegation from the
Swedish Committee on Environment and Agriculture, A delegation from the
Swedish Parliamentary Committee on Environment and Agriculture, Mrs. Anita
Brodén and Mr. Lars Tysklind, visited Indonesia 20-27 February. The delegation
got a good insight into the situation in Indonesia related especially to
environment and climate change. The consultations in Jakarta included meetings
with high Government officials, UNDP, Komisi IV and VII, NGO's, CIFOR, as well
as a field trip to Yogyakarta.
Swedish Delegation attends the high
