1. SBA News
The coming autumn will have a new event from us. There will be a Nordic networking cocktail every 2nd Wednesday every month. It will be at Club Macanudo in Shangri-La Hotel, from 19.00 to 21.00. The first event will be on October 11 and we offer free flow of Macellan Whiskey and snacks between 19.00 and 21.00. The self cost is IDR 100,000 per person.
For Thursday, September 28, we have a Nordic Event arranged by our Norwegian friends at Meridien Hotel at 18.30 – 22.00 with Director General J. Purwono on Electricity and Energy use. The price is IDR 150,000 for SBA members and 200,000 for non-members. Registration and more information from inbc_sec@inbc.or.id
Also we have started our Infrastructure Forum 2006 project. More information on this under our Other segment below;
And then we of course have the election in Sweden. It seems clear, when I write this, that we will have a new government with Fredrik Reinfeldt as new prime ministers. Without getting in to politics, maybe it will be possible to get back to Sweden without having to pay everything in tax…

I was a guest speaker on the ENGAGE ICT conference on September 14, which was an interesting event with research people from Europe and Indonesia. The really interesting news where of course the fact that EU will spend 54,5 billion on research the coming 5 years and we can get support for research also in Indonesia. If anyone has interest on
research of any type and can create cooperation with Europe, universities or companies a like, let me know and you might have 50-100% funding of your project.

1. SBA News
The
holidays are now over and we are all back rested and with new
optimism for the rest of the year.
The
Swedish defence minister Leni Bjorklund visited the AMM (Aceh)
and the Swedish Rescue Services on the 8th of August, accompanied
by the Ambassador of Sweden to Indonesia HE Lennart Linner.
SBA will publish a book on European infrastructure implementers
with the focus on innovation and environmental friendly technology.
All EU states will be a part of the project and the book will
be published on the Infrastructure Forum 2006 in the beginning
of November, where we will have a both. This is a gigantic project
and a very good chance for all companies within the infrastructure
sector to present themselves for all infrastructure purchasers
and financiers. More on this below.

There are not many more news since everyone has been on holiday.
There are several things going on during September though:
September 14, ENGAGE - EU sponsored event on IT research. There
are also several working group meetings to pick up after the summer

summer is closing in and we will have a Swedish summer in Jakarta.

infrastructure study made by the European Commission has been
updated and has been released. If you are interested let me know
and I will send you a soft copy of it. The launch was a success
and it got good publicity in the local media.

The
web site Resource archive is now open. If you are a member and
you haven't got your password yet, please contact me via E-mail
to get it. We will be adding on material continuously.
The
long awaited ship Göteborgh is scheduled to arrive at June
18 and will stay to June 28. There will be a lot of events and
if you are interested to participate in any event as a sponsor
or even have a gathering for your clients on the ship, contact
me for more information. We will publish the whole agenda in the
June Newsletter.

The Gala Dinner was a great success with nearly 300 participants.
May is filled with events from the different bilaterals and there
will be several Europe event during May. For more information,
visit EuroCham's website at www.eurocham.or.id.
The infrastructure study made by the European Commission has been
updated and will be released during May. There are some important
information legislation as well as a more positive view from Europe
towards investments in Indonesia. More on this in the next newsletter
when the report is released.

1. SBA News
We are nearly there with the Web site. Working hard on getting
everything in place with crash courses as well as all documentation
from meetings etc on the site. You will have to use a PDF reader
and you need to login to get these resources. I will keep you
posted on this.
We have finished the survey and the results have been summarized
below. The full report will be at the web site by the end of the
month. This gives you some indications on how to pay your people.
