On our last board meeting Stefan Meurling took home the second painting from
our Swedish artists. It was a very nice painting of a (Swedish?) women. We also
decided to have the annual meeting on February 27. It will be held at Hotel
Aryaduta with start at 18.30. We will there elect a new board and auditor. There
will be a dinner, guest speaker and some entertainment as usual. All members,
both voting and nonvoting are welcome, no charge. If you bring a quest, it cost
Rp. 150,000 for each guest. There will be free flow of beer and soft drink,
if you want wine, you have to bring it your self, the corkage fee are free of
charge though ;-). Drop me an E-mail and let me know if you are coming. Invitations
will be sent separately as well.

First of all, welcome back to all off you that have been spending Christmas
and New Year at home (pulang kampung ;-). For my self I went to Sweden a
few days over Christmas and now remember why I left Sweden and don't miss
snow. -12 degrees Celsius was a lot for me that has not seen a Winter since
1995. A real bad cold has kept me busy ever since.
Our board meeting on January 16, at 17.30, at the Swedish Embassy will
among others determine the time for the Annual meeting. It should be held
in late February so try to be around at that time. Remember we do arrange a
lottery for the the voting members present at the board meeting of another
Swedish picture from the Sweden week.
The European Indonesian Association are organising a Business Lunch with
Professor Dr. Franz Magnis-Suseno SJ "who shall share with us his
considerations about the actual position of the nation and challenges to be
faced in 2003" if you are interested let me know and I send you the
invitation.

Our board meeting with Per Thuresson was a hit as usual when he takes us home for a bite. As already decided a picture from the Sweden week was given out via a lottery. Our host Per Thuresson was the happy winner of a Harley Davidsson Painting. We congratulate him.
Two new members was approved in to our association. Our new members are Ingvar Thorell and Paul Fransson, both as private members. Ingvar is working with Volvo heavy trucks in Kalimantan at PT Eka Dharma Jaya Sakti Tbk and has been a "Volvo man" for many years. Paul is working at PT BMOlsson Indonesia as a Senior Development Manager and has a long history in Indonesia, including studies at Yogyakarta University. We give them both a warm welcome.

The Nordic Event was this month held by our Norwegian colleagues. More
about that in our other section.
Last board meeting was held and there we presented some of the paintings we
have received from the painters we sponsored in the Sweden week. Very nice
paintings. It was decided to make a lottery every board meeting and give
that to the participants that are on time within the first half hour. So
next board meeting is on November 26 (Tuesday) at Per Thuresson's
residence. He has once again welcomed us all to get a bite while having the
board meeting. A true Viking with excellent cooking skills ;-) So put after
noon November 26 in your calendar aside for this. You can get both a
painting and a good meal at the same time..... Invitation will be sent
before the meeting as usual.

After a long summer vacation for the Swedish Business Associations board a new meeting was held last October 2 at the Embassy. The successful art exhibition during Sweden week before the summer, sponsored by SBA, gave SBA several original paintings from the artists. It was decided that these paintings will be used as a lucky draw among for member attending board meetings. Next meeting a painting from Frantzen will be given to one participating member of the next board meeting.
Also handled was the Nordic cooperation, that now is forming. The mail list is taking form and will be ready for use to the coming Nordic Even on October 31, held by our Norwegian brothers. There will be a special mailout to all members on that event.
