SBA News
We have had a Nordic meeting between the 4 Nordic countries Business Associations
and Embassies. It was a very interesting and fruitful meeting held in a very
positive spirit. It was held at the Swedish Embassy (well half the room belongs
to the Finish Embassy ;-) and it was agreed to keep Quarterly Nordic Events
(similar to our event at Arya Duta Hotel earlier this year) and create a common
E-mail list. The E-mail list should be used for invitations to these events
and for a future bi-monthly newsletter similar to this. This cooperation effort
is to be continued.
Note for your books that there will be a board meeting for SBA by the end of
this month. The preliminary time is set to Tuesday September 24 at 17.00. Place
is still to be determined, but note the time and date in your calendars with
a pencil.....

SBA News
It has been holidays and I hope everyone has enjoyed their leave to the homeland.
My self has been forced (well maybe a bit strong) to work during the holiday,
when I got a large system installation for the Volvo truck distributor in Balikpapan.
No complaint since its a very nice company to work with, even if it's not a
holiday.
We will during the autumn continue the Sweden week and are continuing out pursuite
to cooperate with the other Nordic business associations. There will be more
information about this during the autumn.

SBA News
Our last board meeting at the Swedish Embassy on April 9 went of well and it
was decided to support the Swedish National day event with the printing of the
catalogue for the art exhibition. Estimated cost Rp. 15 million. All corporate
members will have their logo and web site on the catalogue as well as the SBA
link. The event should be rather interesting and there will be a lot more than
just the art exhibit. I will write more about this in the following Newsletters.
Next board meeting is set to Tuesday May 14 at 17.00, this time at Lux with
Per Thuresson as our host. The address is PT Luxindo Raya, Jl. Agung Timur 9
Blok 0-1/29-30, Sunter Podomoro, Jakarta 14350.

The Nordic Event went off with large success. 56 Nordic persons from the Nordic
business community was listening on David Nellor as the guest speaker and a
panel, oderated by Ambassador Harald Sandberg, with our own Claes Persson (Ericsson),
Aarno Tumewuju (APP) and Viggo Kristensson ( ). We where missing the Danish
representative, but we hope that they have gathered more curage to the next
Nordic event. It was a carfully optimistic view given by Mr Nellor. He showed
us the large differences with Argentina and highlighted the fact that Indonesia
actually are improving, even if it could go faster. The panel also expressed
their hopes for the future and stressed the importance to improve the image
of Indonesia in the world, which not always is fair to Indonesia. If you are
interested, I have the slides from Mr Nellors presentation, just send me an
E-mail. For all our members, we will have a board meeting at the Swedish Embassy
on April 9 (Tuesday) at 17.00. As decided, all members are welcome since they
are all members of the board. Let me know if you are coming.

SBA News
We have had our annual meeting and it was a very pleasant evening at Aryaduta
Hotel. Really nice to see so many of our members participating on this. The
election of our board resulted in the following:
Chairman: Per Brandt (PT Perstorp Bumi Raya)
Vice Chairman: Claes Persson (PT Ericsson Indonesia)
Treasurer: Stefan Meurling (PT Surya Advisorindo)
Secretary: Michael Olsson (PT BMOlsson Indonesia)
Auditor: Else Sandberg
Other board members: All voting members
Deputies: All other members
Michael Zink from Citibank gave us his view on the Indonesian Economy and we
enjoyed the food from Aryaduta Hotel. We are now recharging our batteries for
the Nordic Event on March 5 with David Nellor as a guest speaker and a panel
with one business man from each of the Nordic Business
Associations. The Swedish Business Association will be represented by our own
Claes Persson (Ericsson). Moderator for the panel discussion will be our Ambassador
Harald Sandberg. Me myself is really looking forward to this event.
