SBA Newsletter - September 2008

1. From the Chairman

Friends

Foreign investments into Indonesia continue to slow down, which the Government ought to address. BKMP, a governmental body set to stimulate and encourage FDI, now needs get its act together and start to deliver. However together with the Government, often questions and concerns aren't clarified, but rather leave analysts/ investors to interpret laws, regulations and decrees themselves, which creates uncertainty. As a result, we do see less equity in the market, creating an increasing demand for Vendor financing. The above, together with the increased inflation and the general economic decline, is likely to have a negative impact on several industry sectors.
